Description

The Human Resources Analyst is responsible for processing a vast array of HR services for the Staff Personnel Service Center comprising of the Departments of Anesthesiology, Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. This Center provides broad cross-coverage for SHR management as well as complex issue/project oversight in areas requiring specific expertise (e.g., UC Path issue management, implementation of new initiatives such as Career Tracks). You will oversee and direct departmental time reporting for approximately 492 biweekly, monthly, and work-study staff. Advise employees in proper time reporting in accordance with appropriate policies. Train employees and supervisors on how to navigate HBS electronic timesheet program to ensure that staff payroll policies are properly followed. Administer departmental payroll administration UC Path transactions for staff appointments, including equity/ merit increases, workers compensation, incentive awards, off cycle checks, and terminating pay according to university policies and procedures. Serve as the departmental point of contact for all payroll and benefits related inquiries for the staff employee population. As the departmental liaison, manage all efforts between UCLA CRU and UC Path in order to implement solutions under minimal supervision. Responsible for conducting monthly financial analysis, including incentive pay, for the Attending Physician populations under the Department of Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. Oversee and conduct review of staff and Postdoc/ Research Faculty leave accrual balances. Consolidate, report on UCPath and adjust as necessary. Serve as a super-user for Qgenda to approve and manage leave accrual usage for Anesthesiology Physicians. Audit staff payroll to ensure salary accuracy by running various CDW reports, including Records of Earnings, Check Details and Dope report, on a bi-weekly basis. Manage submission of blood donation recharges for Anesthesiology, Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine Staff. Pay Range: $24.81 - $52.11 Hourly

Qualifications

All Required: Prior experience in Human Resources and/or payroll services Analytical skills to evaluate personnel information to define problems, identify relevant concerns or factors, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and recognize alternative methods and their implications. Ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines under conditions of heavy workload, conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions. Skill in interpreting University staff personnel policies and procedures and provisions under various bargaining unit labor contracts. Demonstrated experience in the operation of computer using Windows, Word, Excel, Visio, and the UC Path/HBS On-line Systems. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel, personal and patient information and discuss personnel/payroll matters of sensitive nature. Ability to compose routine business, personnel and/or payroll correspondence. Typing skills to prepare correspondence forms, reports, and memos with speed and accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional and courteous working relationships with all departmental personnel, University representatives and supervisor/department management.
